‘Honest and useful advice’ - AIPP Consumer Guide 2009

07/09/2009

Our annual guide out soon!

Each year, we produce a guide for consumers: ‘Buying Overseas Property Safely – the Consumer Guide from the Industry Body’. A 64-page guide, available in hard copy and online digital format (for the first time this year), it is full of useful advice for those looking to buy a property overseas.

Remember, the AIPP gives INDEPENDENT advice. We do not sell property, nor anything else for that matter. The guide explains how we can help you; the top tips to buying overseas safely; the 10 questions you should ask agents or developers before paying any money; who else you’ll need to help you through the process; and how much it costs to buy with a few examples of properties overseas.

Our 4th edition, the guide will be available as a bagged supplement in A Place in the Sun magazine, on sale from 24th September. To read your copy, simply pick up a copy of A Place in the Sun from that date.

We think this year’s edition is our best yet, full of useful tips along with a few ideas for avoiding common pitfalls and a full list of AIPP Members, of course, all voluntarily committed to follow our professional Code of Conduct.

On page 7 of the guide, an American buyer - Constance Ryland – describes how AIPP helped her and her family:

‘For me, the AIPP acted as a form of assurance. I spoke to them and they gave me very honest and useful advice. It was helpful to talk to someone independent. Whenever I emailed the AIPP, I got a reply quickly which was always rich in information and told me what the best action was. They were conscientious, polite and very, very helpful.’

We hope our Consumer Guide 2009 lives up to Constance’s view of our work and that you find it an essential addition to your buying research.
